The purpose of Safari Lodge was not to conquer the forest.
It was made to coexist peacefully with it.
For many generations, a local family owned our land and kept it safe. The lodge still stands on the same property today, surrounded by tropical plantations, wildlife, native forest, and waterfalls.
One of Ecuador’s most biodiverse areas, the Cloud Forest of La Esperanza, is something we are dedicated to protecting.
We are accountable for all of our resources. Anaerobic systems and biodigesters are used to process all of the lodge's waste, filtering water and separating solids before it is properly released back into the environment. This guarantees: Rivers and waterfalls are completely uncontaminated. No effect on the ecosystem of the forest
We use our sugar cane and banana plantations, and native forest, to build a haven for local wildlife, including armadillos, parrots, guatusas, and more animals on the area.
More than 500 species of birds
400 species of orchids
different waterfalls
Mammals, amphibians and insects
La Esperanza's Cloud Forest is unlike any other in South America. It is constantly encircled by mist and ranges in elevation from 500 to 1300 meters. Its circumstances result in a lot kinds of animals and plants::
